My name is Daniela Boksjo head trainer from BodyUp! Personal Training

"My passion for health and fitness began at a young age of 7, when I started swimming due to a severe case of asthma. At the age of 13, I had fully recovered, and was part of the State team, back in Brazil, my homeland.

At 14 I decided to venture into the world of Martial Arts, and started practising Karate until I ingressed university at age of 21.

As a child I spent a lot of time making “interesting dishes” and had a dream to become a food scientist. In 2001 I obtained a Bachelor of Food Science's degree. I thoroughly enjoyed the course, but realized that working in the industry wasn't for me as their main goal is usually profit instead of people's health.

I met my husband in 1998 and in 2002 we moved to Sydney, Australia where we raise our two daughters.

In 2013 I went back to Karate, won the JKA (Japan Karate Association) Nationals in the senior Kata modality, but suffered a severe knee injury during kumite (fighting) competition. Having had a knee reconstruction and spending long time with recovery, helped me to learn and apply the preventative side of health and fitness

Sport has in many ways helped me to develop my self-confidence and character. The act of physical exercise, not only improves health and fitness, but improves self-esteem and allows people to become confident in their own skin. I believe that EVERYONE can achieve amazing things if they challenge themselves. It’s my job to assist them and guide them, keeping the motivation along the journey. As a personal trainer I have the opportunity to work with several types of people, all with different goals, lifestyles and medical conditions. The one thing they have in common is they are all interested in becoming a healthier and stronger version of themselves.

I have had most my clients since 2008. I feel accomplished and I think they agree with me when I say that I LOVE being a Personal Trainer! I look forward meeting YOU very soon!"
